My Story

My love of drawing and creating started at a very early age. My very first portraits were of family and friends and my school note books were filled with caricactures of teachers and fellow pupils alike. I get real buzz from bringing somebodies character to life on the page. Each face is different and capturing somebodies personality is such a challenge! After finishing my A'levels and leaving school I worked through a variety of interesting jobs until I found work as a cartoonist and illustrator in the mid 1990s.
In early 2002 I was lucky enough to get a job working at the BBC in the props department which allowed to me showcase my talents on various shows. Including Blue Peter, X-Change and many other television productions. Then in 2005, at the age of 32, I decided that it was time to push myself further by leaving London behind and pursuing an Art Degree in Illustration at Portsmouth University.
After finishing my studies in 2008 I moved to Brighton and found in employment as a Support Worker, with a client base of young adults and adults with mental health issues. This career path lasted for almost 8 years and enabled me to run some very successful residential art groups teaching both drawing and sculpture.
Presently I reside in Bexhill with my tabby cat Custard and create full time.
